Silent Treatment

His innocent eye saw,
what nobody should see.
Her body felt the pain,
No one should feel.

For blood
was on his father's bed,
his mother stood near,
with hands crimson red.

She trembled near her own father,
when he touched her waist.
For her screams were unheard,
it was as if they were all erased.

The world may never know,
what they might have gone through.
It was all a silent treatment,
understood by only a few.
